Volcom Stone - Snowboard Clothing
History of the Volcom Stone - Know Your Snowboard
Apparel
Volcom Stone clothing was started
by Richard Woolcott and Tucker Hall in 1991. The two men were
on a snowboard trip to Lake Tahoe when they thought that they
could start making snowboard accessories and apparel for men,
women and kids. After borrowing money the company started
and so did the infamous Volcom Stone.
"Youth against establishment" was the basic principle
the company and its amazing icon and logo, the Volcom
Stone. Kids out riding the newest Burton snowboards
may not remember the days when snowboarding, like skateboarding,
was looked down upon by almost everyone and every ski resort.
It wasn't until the 2000-2001 season that Aspen even allowed
snowboarding on Ajax! Since then you've seen the Volcom Stone
proudly displayed on snowboard apparel of pro snowboarders
at X-Games events held at Buttermilk.
The Volcom Stone and Volcom clothing can now be found around the world on innovative, creative and artistic athletes.
