Burton Give Small Kids Big Style and Grown
Up Technology in 2005!
Burlington, VT – In 2005, we did a funny thing – we treated our kids line like we treat our adult line. Just like we put full size riders on our full size boards to test performance, we put tiny kids on our girls and boys boards to test the flex, waist width and lengths. It may not seem like rocket science, but it is somewhat challenging to find four and six year olds who rip and can give you solid testing feedback on a board. But we rounded up some pint-sized rippers, and the result is the most dramatically improved youth board line we’ve ever made. In 2005, Burton offers a total of four boards designed just for kids – more than ever before. All youth boards’ flexes, sizes and shapes have been significantly updated to compliment kids’ weights, sizes and the way little groms flex a board.
As for youth outerwear, we felt like kids’
jackets deserve as much style attention as our adult line
gets, so we actually took design inspiration and styles from
the men’s Ronin and Burton lines and women’s Burton lines
and shrunk them down for kids. And to make things simpler,
the 2005 kids’ outerwear line will be branded Burton, the
name kids know best. Now kids don’t have to wait until they
can fit into the full size outerwear to get the look they
want. Here are a few of the Burton products kids will be begging
for in 2005.
Burton Chicklet Snowboard
When it comes to tech, girl-specific design and price, no other kids board on the market can touch the new Chicklet. We spent months on the mountain with little groms, testing and tweaking the board so it flexes appropriately for small kids’ weights and feet sizes. The Chicklet isn’t just a short board – it’s specially engineered for girls as young as four so they can easily control it, link turns and shred with the best of them. This is the board all young girls should take their first turns on to start their riding years off right. In 2005, we re-designed the Girls Punch from scratch to fit girls’ weights, heights and feet sizes just right. The all-new shape has a narrower waist width for better edge-to-edge control and a flex pattern that responds to girls’ weights. Burton Youth Down Jacket
Loaded with only the finest options and materials for superior function and amplified style, the Youth Down is the next level of warmth. Our only unisex youth jacket, the all new Youth Down gives boys and girls the style and warmth they want. Basically, we took the Ronin 6/4 Down Jacket and re-engineered the fit for little rippers who want to ride all day in winter’s harshest conditions.
