Look good, ride good in the new 2005 Burton Women's Softgoods line!

Burton Snowboards bought Jeenyus!

Burlington, VT – No matter what style they’re into, girls like to look good. Whether they’re sitting on the lift, making their way through steep tree glades or waiting for a table at the packed après ride spot, women riders want their snowboarding gear to fit great, keep them dry and warm and have some fashion flair.

With this in mind, Burton took a new approach to its 2005 women’s softgoods line. They pooled all their resources together and merged the former Radar line and the Burton Women’s line into one, team-backed women’s outerwear line simply branded “Burton”. The new unified line is stronger than any women’s softgoods line to date, featuring a variety of new styles from sophisticated to retro and unique herringbone and heathered fabrics that will stoke out the full spectrum of women riders.

For the first time ever, the women’s outerwear line has deep color stories so ladies can coordinate or mix and match their getup from their beanies all the way down to their socks. The new color stories give women head to toe fashion options so they can easily pull a tight outfit together. Femme Fatale, Hot Night and Oceanside are just a few of the progressive new color groupings for 2005 that will have women gravitating towards the new line.

Burton also revamped the women’s AK line, taking valuable advice from Global Team Rider Victoria Jealouse who suggested combining AK’s high-end tech features with more stylish cutlines, colors and silhouettes. The AK line’s color stories compliment the Burton women’s line colors so riders can easily pair an AK jacket with Burton pants or vice versa. The result is the most functional and fashion-forward pieces ever to bear the AK logo.

Here are a few of the key pieces in the new 2005 line that will have women riders looking forward to every cold day.

WMS Burton RU Down Jacket
The new RU Down Jacket proves that riding in sub-zero temperatures doesn’t have to mean riding in sub-level styles. Backed by every rider on Burton’s Women’s Team, the RU Down has Inuit-inspired features like a faux fur-trimmed, removable hood, zigzag stitching and decorative floral printed piping. Although it may be the most stylish snowboarding jacket you’ve ever owned, the RU Down is truly built with rider functionality in mind. Shell fabric covers one side of the faux fir trim on the hood to prevent snow-build up, and the hood also features cozy fleece panels in the ear area for extra warmth. The feminine cut lines mimic a pullover style jacket, but the RU Down actually features a full center zip – tricky,eh? Vertical down panel stitching adds a slimming effect so you don’t look all puffed out. Suede-like microfiber fabric gives the jacket a super soft feel and modern look. Are you down? MSRP: $299.95

Burton WMS AK Aileron
Our team riders asked for the highest tech available combined with a unique, modern style, and we gave it to them in the Aileron. Built with classic GORE-TEX® 2L fabric, the Aileron will protect you from blizzards, sleet and downpours. The new utilitarian style, cut in a flattering, feminine silhouette, features angled patch-on pockets that give you plenty of room to stash your goods for a day out on the hill. Crossflow venting lets fresh air in through the front vents and dumps stale, hot air out the side and pit vents. Packed with features like pack friendly seams, hydration compatibility and a tear-open Stormflap goggle pocket, the AK Aileron keeps up with your style sense and functional needs on and off the mountain. MSRP: $289.95

Burton WMS Insulator Mitt
Listen up ladies. We’ve got a mitt that will end your days of riding with frozen fingers. The new Insulator Mitt is the warmest women’s mitt we make and is designed to thaw out the coldest hands. Even on arctic days, your hands won’t go numb with all the Thermacore insulation we packed into this mitt. To give your fingers even more love, we lined the mitt with wooly pile fleece for added warmth and comfort. With a shell made from our breathable, waterproof Storm-Lite® 2.0 fabric, your hands will stay dry when its dumping out. The sophisticated quilted styling, created by Jussi Oksanen’s sister Anna, gives the Insulator some sass. Contrast stitching and colors that compliment the women’s Burton line add to its style appeal. MSRP: $69.95

Burton Women’s Bags
Hey, snowboarders need handbags too, just like the rest of the female world. So even if the word ‘purse’ makes you cringe, you’ll definitely find a bag in this line that you’ll be stoked to have on your shoulder. There’s the corduroy Slingback (MSRP: $29.95) that has plenty of room for a few mags, a sweater and a camera, so you’re all set, no matter what the day or night brings. The new scaled-down Clutch (MSRP: $24.95) also features rip-stop patterned corduroy and a discreet magnetic center closure for that chic, urban look. And then there’s the Puffi Purse (MSRP: $29.95), the bag you can’t live without if you love the look of the new Burton RU Down Jacket. And since there are plenty of girls out there who just don’t want anything that closely resembles a purse, there’s the Pouch (MSRP: $29.95). Tricked out with a metal magnetic buckle closure and a cell phone side pocket, the Pouch has the look of an old school camera bag and can be attached to your belt. So no matter what your take on the purse is, Burton has a small bag that will suit your needs and your style.
