2005 RED Helmet features in-mold designs, improved
fit and progressive styling.
Burlington, VT – No matter what you like
to do on snow, R.E.D. helmets can help you
progress. No, they won’t help you stomp your first 360 or
give you the skill to slice through tight, steep tree runs
like butter – but they will protect you when you’re trying
new things and stepping up.
In 2005, R.E.D. worked on progressing its products - improving fit, comfort and helmet construction. New for 2005, all high-end R.E.D. helmets use an in-mold helmet construction method that utilizes aerospace materials to create super lightweight helmets that meet ASTM certification standards. Improving comfort was also a major objective, so R.E.D. modified its head-forms to greatly improve the fit and feel of its helmets. The result – 2005 R.E.D. helmets fit better than any other helmets out there.
Check out two of R.E.D.’s 2005 helmets you’ll be seeing all over the mountain next season.
R.E.D. Hi-Fi Audio Helmet
Rebuilt from the inside out, the new Hi-Fi Audio takes protection, comfort and fit to the next level. Using an in-mold construction process that fuses the shell and protective foam together, the Hi-Fi Audio is an ultra lightweight, low profile helmet with a high strength-to-weight ratio and an improved fit. For the freestyle rider who feeds off music, the new Quick Clip removable ear pads with built-in speakers, will take your riding through the roof. Using a design that mimics DJ-style speaker housing, the speaker ear pads provide true sound quality and bass boom reproduction. The speaker cord features volume control and plugs into any MD, CD or tape player. Don’t worry, it automatically unplugs if you crash so your helmet doesn’t get wrenched off your head upon impact. Thanks to the easy-access mute button, you no longer have to nod your head and pretend like you understand what your buddy is babbling about. MSRP: $149.95
(Burton) RED Remix Helmet
From pointing rock-infested chutes to bushwacking through tight trees, the Remix offers the confidence needed to navigate hairy terrain. A new in-mold construction reduces the shell weight by 50% for a durable, ultra lightweight helmet that won’t bog you down. The low-profile Quick Clip removable ear pads use the same waterproof, breathable softshell fabric found in our high-end AK™ outerwear, so you can kiss cold ears goodbye. R.E.D. put an end to helmet headaches by redesigning the interior using top-shelf padding for insane comfort. With a snowboard-specific venting system, vents are placed on the sides of the helmet for increased heat-dumping surface area when cruising sideways down the hill. A super tough oxidized finish, metal logo emblems and metal mesh vents create an overall automotive-inspired design theme. If you demand safety in style, the Remix offers high-tech comfort in a battle-proof design. MSRP: $129.95
